Mapping/Iteration
Brief: Go for a walk and make several Iterations of a map, starting with noting landmarks along the path and finishing with a functional map. Iteration 1: Instead of writing down landmarks I took photos of several prominent Shops/locations on the route I took. Iteration 2: During the session I started to sketch a very rough first draft in my notebook from memory (without looking at the photos). I decided to use a simple abbreviated key for the map early on (e.g. SG for St. Georges Building, PH for Playhouse Bar). I found it challenging to get the scale of the buildings and roads correct. Iteration 3. For my next draft I switched to A4 paper to try and fit everything on a single page, as the route I walked was relatively short and I did not think it would require a larger size.
